Two years ago, behind the decks at club Nar in Utrecht, a conversation started between two DJs. That conversation is now pressed in wax.
SoundSurreal has been playing vinyl, and vinyl only, for over thirty years. He has never released a record. On October 15 that changes: together with LA-born producer codyfromhighschool he releases Everybody Wants To Be A DJ, three tracks of raw, hypnotic club music, born in Utrecht and finished with an ocean in between.

SoundSurreal
Spinning records since the early nineties, SoundSurreal bought his first Technics decks in 1992 while working at a record store in Feldkirch, Austria. His crates have travelled from Bangkok to San Francisco to Ibiza, and most recently through a three year residency at Nar, Utrecht. In an increasingly disposable, digital world he remains a hundred percent vinyl: more prep, more weight, more luggage, and no plans to change his tune. Everybody Wants To Be A DJ is his first ever release.

codyfromhighschool
Born and raised in Los Angeles and now based in the UK, codyfromhighschool has been DJing for over fifteen years, shaped by the tech house and disco scenes of the West Coast. He has six digital releases to his name; this EP is the first he can hold. The record was born in Utrecht, during the years he lived there, and finished across an ocean. The distance never had an impact on the music.
